This kit uses a light dependent resistor and two transistors configured as a Darlington pair to control the speed of a motor. A trimpot enables the LDR to have adjustable sensitivity, and a high brightness LED indicates the speed of the motor. You should be able to control the LDR up to a metre away. You can also add an on, off, on DPDT switch as a H Bridge to enable forward and reverse movement. The circuitry is designed to handle motors with a current rating of up to 1 Amp. This kit is adaptable with other configurations e.g. A light controlled Vibrabot or Light sensing alarm. See website for more ideas.
